Simplify Media has developed a simple iPhone/iPod Touch application that connects to your computer — and your friends — anywhere you have WiFi internet access. Browse through your music library just as you would at home, just as you would if you actually had the music stored on your iPhone. It can be used with itunes or winamp.

Requirements: 1.1.1 or 1.1.2 on the iPhone and iPod Touch, a jailbreak and the AppTap Installer Simplify Media Mobile then can be added to your device with just a few clicks of the well-named Installer by looking under the Multimedia category. Use the same AppTap framework for updates and un-installation.

Limitations: Features not (yet) implemented include: search; view by album and genre; next song control and progress bar on the player; and, EDGE connectivity. Like the iTunes store, Simplify Media Mobile is WiFi only.

Simplify Media Mobile shares many benefits of the desktop applications like:

Easy setup and zero configuration firewall traversal
Support for MP3, AAC, WMA and Apple Lossless files
A strong security model, including the encryption of all streams
Interactive access to full libraries and playlists from up to 30 friends
My favorite part is that Simplify Media Mobile offers continuous playback - and it doesn’t tie up Safari. These may sound like small things but they are critical to listening (and web-surfing) enjoyment. They are also tricks current web-based music solutions can’t accomplish on an iPhone.

How to share your music library:
1) Install Simplify Media Mobile on your Apple iPhone or iPod Touch using the AppTap Installer (our category is Multimedia).
2) Sign in with your Simplify Media screen name and password.
If you don’t have a free account, download and install Simplify Media for your PC or Mac to create one.
3) Invite more friends to enjoy more music.
Note: Features still under development include skip to the next song and the progress bar during playback as well as sort by album and genre.
