Study Reveals iPhone as Most Reliable Smartphone

Most owners of BlackBerry devices love their smartphones and a big part of this has to do with BlackBerry reliability. As it turns out, however, the BlackBerry is not the most reliable smartphone on the market. It’s the iPhone. SquareTrade is a company that sells extra warranties for cell phones and other devices, so you could say that it knows a thing or two about the relative reliability of different electronic …

iPhone Say Who Voice Dialing Doesn’t Need Training

As great as the iPhone 3G may be, it’s not without its faults. For whatever reason, it doesn’t do copy and paste, and it doesn’t do voice-dialing. Well, at least that second part has now been alleviated with the recent release of the “Say Who” app available through everyone’s favorite App Store. Voice dialing is a standard feature on a lot of mobile phones these days, even though most people never …

iPod Shuffle New Colors

I am a fan of convergent mobile devices (i.e. ones that include music players), but every now and then something comes along that is so bitingly simple that you just gotta use it. My iPod Shuffle get use every day without fail, and it’s uber-clever design means it is the only music device I’ll take in the gym.

Color? Who needs color? The original Nintendo Game Boy was the source of hours of entertainment and was my first major handheld device. Relive that nostalgia with iGameboy for the iPhone. This has got to be one of the coolest themes available for the Apple iPhone and iPod touch, largely for people in my generation who grew up playing puke green Tetris and spinach green Mario. There are two variations too: one …

When the first Apple iPhone hit the market, it was largely targeted at the consumer market. When the iPhone 3G came along, it added Exchange support and some other doo-dahs that made it little more business-friendly. Well, it’s about to take the next leap. While the iPhone 3G is still lacking in the copy-and-paste department, it will soon be able to create, edit, and send a variety of Microsoft Office files …

Ever use the Myvu Crystal? It’s a pair of glasses that has a built-in VGA-quality display. The idea here is that you connect the Crystal to your portable media player or cellphone and you can take immersive audio/video with you wherever you go. That’s the idea, but like I said I haven’t used them so I can’t speak to how well they work. Doug seemed to like it, though.

Well, it means hopefully your iPhone 3G will survive three years of accidental drops, scratches, and scuffs (not if you have an invisibleSHIELD installed though!). The iPhone’s warranty is one year from Apple. I’ve used this warranty through Rogers to exchange for a new unit due to my original’s …
