In a desperate bid to increase use by corporate users, Apple is currently in production to build support for Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync for its iPhone device. Buzz Technologies Inc has today released Email Anywhere, an email platform that has accomplished the Microsoft Active Sync support already. The service allows any corporation to have all their emails loaded onto the Buzz Platform making them instantly available on any remote device including iPhone. The service features will allow IT departments to more easily monitor the devices on a corporate network as well as enforce security in the event of a lost device.

Apple is holding an event dedicated to the iPhone today, and the first major announcement is that this smartphone will soon get support for Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync.

The company hopes this will go a long way toward making the iPhone more accepted by, and useful to, business people. Apple’s long-term goal is to lure companies away from their BlackBerries. Buzz Technologies Inc feels the dedicated iPhone service has limitations mainly that all staff need an iPhone “we have a platform now that runs on anything that connects to the internet” Sean Lee said today. ” this gives our service a scalability that will make it very popular with corporations, the fact that the service is server based also means upgrades etc are instant” he added.

“Apple is building Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync support right into the iPhone,” said Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing. “The iPhone will have out-of-the-box connectivity with Exchange Servers for push email, contacts, and calendars, as well as important security features enterprise customers demand.”

Users will be able to configure the connection between their smartphone and the server on their device, and IT managers will be able to do a remote wipe of a stolen or lost unit. Buzz users will have nothing to configure, as soon as you connect it is done automatically.
